Weirdos in the Woods: An Upstate Artlife Adventure
Organized by The Tavern and Three Phase Center in Stone Ridge, and Rosekill Performance Art Farm in Rosendale, NY
Labor Day Weekend · August 29–31, 2025
Weirdos in the Woods is a three-day celebration of art, performance, and community spanning from Mohonk to Woodstock.
Throughout the weekend, six artists will open their studios to the public, while our three host venues present performances, installations, and experiences featuring local Hudson Valley artists alongside special guests from afar. At the heart of the festival is a living map, beautifully hand-drawn by local art hero Ernest Goodmaw, guiding visitors through exhibitions, sound, dance, performance art, lectures, experiences, and talkbacks. In total, twenty-six artists will be featured across six studio locations and three venues.
When night falls, the community gathers at our main event spaces:
- Friday August 29th 7-10:PM at The Tavern — a multi-artist bill of music and performance
- Saturday August 30th 4-10:PM at Three Phase Center — large-scale multi-artist installations, exhibitions, video presentations, technical demonstrations, and performances.
- Sunday August 30th 4-10:PM at Rosekill Art Farm — a closing celebration with performance art, communal feast, fire, lake swimming, and camping!
Weirdos in the Woods is an artist-driven festival and a roaming experiment in building a community-funded model that supports artists while integrating them into practical, creative, and conceptual endeavors.
