Thanks for coming to our second fundraiser: a marathon edition of Anatomy Avant Garde.
What is Anatomy Avant Garde?
It’s a multisensory performance experience where each participant lies on floor cushions, a stethoscope amplifying their heartbeat. Musicians then improvise in real time with the rhythm and nuances of the heartbeat. At the same time, a visual artist paints on a suspended plexiglass panel above the body.
How to participate:
For a sliding-scale donation of $50–$100, you can be one of the heartbeat participants. Each session is 25 minutes long. You’ll leave with your heartbeat recording and the original plexiglass painting created during your session.
We suggest a $20 donation to come experience the atmosphere, enjoy the performances, and take part in a silent auction featuring rare items, experimental services, and weird surprises.
We can’t wait to see you there and share what we’ve been building.
Thanks to all who came to help kick things off with our first-ever fundraiser for Weirdos in the Woods—a grassroots, interdisciplinary arts festival happening Labor Day Weekend, August 29–31, 2025 in the Hudson Valley.
Organized by The Tavern and Three Phase Center (Stone Ridge, NY) in collaboration with Rosekill Art Farm (Rosendale, NY), this festival will feature over 30 artists working across sound, performance, visual art, music, and other experimental forms.
Our fundraising mission? To pay artists—especially those who hustle in trades, tech, and labor—fairly for their creative work. In the face of ongoing art funding cuts, we’re building new models of mutual support and community care.
Our Weirdos in the Woods Festival is just 14 weeks away, August 29-21, 2025. We’re super excited to present 30 unique (weird) local artists to the community. One of the fundamental aspects of our mission for this festival is to pay artists properly for their work. Our primary goal is to pay each of the 30 presenting artists $300. This requires raising $9000 to make the artists’ fees alone.
We’re really excited to share these 30 artists with you and to expand the community of weirdos.
We have three donation levels:
Weirdo $501-$1000 – listed on map – listed on website – hand made t-shirt
Experimental $101-$500 – listed on website list of donors – t-shirt
Fringe $25-$100 – t-shirt
This is our initial phase, details on upcoming fundraising events will follow.
We’ve setup a Venmo account for donations, the link is: https://account.venmo.com/u/weirdosinthewoods We ask that you please share this link around with anyone who would like to support us.
